What is a Bill of Supply?

A Bill of Supply is issued instead of a tax invoice when: (1) the seller is registered under GST Composition Scheme, or (2) the goods/services are fully exempt from GST. No GST is charged or collected.

Who needs to issue a Bill of Supply?

Businesses registered under the GST Composition Scheme (turnover up to ₹1.5 crore for goods, ₹50 lakh for restaurants/services) must issue Bills of Supply instead of tax invoices.

Can I claim ITC with a Bill of Supply?

No. Since no GST is charged on a Bill of Supply, the buyer cannot claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) on it. ITC is only available on tax invoices.
